The SN SERIES represents a new milestone in P.AUDIO strive for technology and performance.
Matter-of-factly, the introduction of the SN-SERIES neodymium transducers, takes the concept of professional speaker into a brand new dimension. While designing the SN-SERIES , P.AUDIO’s engineers had three main targets in mind :

1.Extremely light weight ;
2.High power handing ;
3.Captivating design.

Well, today we can definitely say that not only have the targets been archived, but also that other important features have been embedded in the finished products, such as :

·A complete line consisting of 6 woofers and 3 drivers ;

THE TECHNOLOGY

State-of-the-art software and R&D tools have been extensively used both in the developing and in the prototyping stages, allowing P.AUDIO’s engineers to consider (and thus enhance) any single detail, be it electrical, acoustical or mechanical. As a matter of fact CAD (Computer Aided Design) was used to design, modify and combine all mechanical parts (including baskets, pole pieces and soft parts). In particular FEA (Finite Elements Analysis) was used exactly design and fit the magnetic motor structure, so that the magnetic flux can be completely exploited only where it is needed : this has produced a magnetic motor that is small, light, cheap, but extremely efficient!


APPLICATIONS

The main characteristic of the SN SERIES is definitely light weight. So wherever weight is a serious constraint to deal with (meaning almost everywhere), then SN SERIES must be your choice. While manufacturers of plastic cabinets will be delighted by the heat handling capable SN SERIES woofer, they will be amazed by the weight load they will be able to take off their cabinets. The new SD SERIES of Low Frequency transducers is the result of two years of research and development by P.Audio. We at P.Audio are proud to introduce a line of transducers that represents the State of the Art for professional sound applications. PC OPERA 7.1, Finite Element Analysis, was used to design all SD SERIES motors. Both AC quasi-dynamic and DC static analysis was performed throughout the design phase of this project. All SD Series designs utilize three shorting rings in the motor assembly. These rings have several beneficial effects on transducer distortion and performance in general. Inductance modulation and flux modulation have been significantly reduced, resulting in distortion reduction. Self-inductance of the voice coil has also been significantly reduced, resulting in increased bandwidth. ABAQUS 5.8.1, Finite Element Analysis software was used to design the transducers suspension systems. Non-linear force verses deflection analyses along with non-linear stress analysis were performed on all spiders and surrounds. Additionally, non-linear buckling analysis was performed on all surrounds. ABAQUS 5.8.1 was also used to perform linear finite element analysis of the modal frequencies and modal shapes of the cones and dust caps. This enables us to optimize cone and dust cap geometry and thickness.
